Special Visitor from Switzerland
Updated: Nov 20, 2020
A rare jet landed at Essendon airport recently. The aircraft (HB-JWA), flew in from Johor Bahru and touched down at around 2100 AEST. This Bombardier Challenger 650 is operated by Swiss Air-Ambulance.
Being only 2 years since painted, this aircraft has a magnificent shiny livery that looks great both night and day. Since delivery 2 years ago, the Challenger has accomplished many medical missions around the world.
Even though HB-JWA is capable of long-distance flights, most of its missions are in Europe and therefore it is a rare visitor to Australia. In fact, it is the first time this aircraft has flown into Melbourne from what I gather.
The aircraft left Essendon 2 days later, en route to Jakarta. Unfortunately, we had cloud cover for the departure...
All the best to those who are transported by this great service and the HB-JWA crew.
